Co-ordinated shootings in the Indian city of Mumbai killed at least 101 people and injured nearly 300 on November 26. The shootings targeted the city’s main railway station and financial district. Hostages were held throughout the night at the Oberoi and Taj Mahal, high-end business hotels also popular with tourists. The Deccan Mujahedeen, a previously unknown terrorist group which is thought to have links to al-Qaeda, has claimed responsibility for the attacks. Financial markets in India were closed on Thursday. India’s central bank continued processing cash auctions to keep funds flowing through the country's interbank lending markets.
