Can you click through to breakingviews stories on your BlackBerry?
If not as long as you have web access....here are tips that will speed things up.
If you don't have web access on your blackberry, it's probably due to your
firm's security policy. We do not encourage any change to these policies.
You will still be able to benefit from blackberry-friendly email formats, but will
not be able to click through to access our stories.
Logins are easier.
Whatever type of Blackberry you have (provided it is not an old black & white model), you should now be able to access breakingviews without having to log in each time (after the first time).Unfortunately, the old black & white Blackberry technology does not support breakingviews.
Access is faster.
Breakingviews has done everything possible to reduce the data transmission and optimize the speed. Frankly, data transfer to Blackberries is slow, about quarter of the speed of the old dial up connections so please don’t “shoot” breakingviews over the pace. So until the networks roll out 3G technology what you see is what you get!
The early color models will give you a page in about 15 seconds – from clicking “get link”.
Newer Blackberries are a bit faster and you should get your page in about eight seconds.
The latest ones are down to four seconds.
3G will get it down to two seconds.
Formats are friendlier.
When you look at breakingviews on your Blackberry now you always see simpler, Blackberry-friendly formatting.
With so many combinations of Blackberry models, networks and computer server types, issues with the breakingviews service are inevitable. If you continue to experience any kind of problem we really want to know so we can try to fix them.
