Breakingviews rises in the East

London/Hong Kong, April 1, 2009

Breakingviews has expanded its coverage of Asia with the launch of its Hong Kong bureau. John Foley will lead Breakingviews’ agenda-setting financial commentary in the region, alongside an influential team of writers in Europe and the US.

Already a leading voice in financial comment through its subscription-only website, Breakingviews appears daily in the New York Times, International Herald Tribune, Caijing (China), Business Standard (India), Business Times (Singapore) and many other leading publications.

“Asia is taking a leading role in reshaping global finance. We will give our readers more insight into this exciting region – and bring Breakingviews’ pull-no-punches comment to a new elite audience,” said Hugo Dixon, Breakingviews’ editor-in-chief.

John Foley was most recently mergers and acquisitions correspondent in Breakingviews’ London bureau, writing on global takeovers, capital markets and restructurings. He joined Breakingviews in 2004, and has covered sectors including consumer goods, retail, luxury and mining.
