Breakingviews lands in China

Beijing/New York/London, November 24, 2008

Caijing, China’s most influential financial publication, will begin publishing a daily breakingviews column from November 24, expanding breakingviews.com’s agenda-setting commentary to one of the world’s fastest-growing capital markets.

The columns will be published online in Mandarin each business day, and will be chosen by Caijing’s editors from breakingviews.com's insightful views on the top events of interest to financial professionals around the globe. A selection of views will also appear regularly in Caijing’s fortnightly print magazine.

Since its founding in 1998, Caijing has established itself as the authoritative voice for business and financial issues in China. The magazine, with a circulation of 225,000 readers drawn from the top echelons of government, business and academia, tracks the most important aspects of China's economic reforms, developments and policy changes, as well as major events in the capital markets.

“Adding breakingviews.com’s insights from the financial capitals of the Americas and Europe perfectly complements our own independent and unique analysis of finance in China and abroad,” said Caijing editor Hu Shuli, whom the New York Times named the “Most Powerful Business Editor in China” in 2005. “This is a winning combination at a time of global financial turmoil.”

"There is no better partner to bring our pull-no-punches commentary to China’s vibrant financial community,” said Rob Cox, US Editor and director of breakingviews.com. "Caijing’s high-quality editorial standards and independent thinking make it the ideal platform for our agenda-setting financial journalism.”

Created in 1999, breakingviews.com provides members of the global financial elite with valuable insights in real time. It also has partnerships with media groups including The New York Times, International Herald Tribune, Daily Telegraph, Fortune magazine, The Business Times of Singapore, Germany’s Handelsblatt, France's Le Monde, Holland’s NRC Handelsblad, Spain's El Pais, Italy’s La Stampa, India’s Mint and The National in the UAE, reaching four million readers daily.

Breakingviews.com delivers independent financial commentary throughout the business day to more than 15,000 professionals among the world's top investment banks, hedge funds, institutional investors, corporations, sovereign wealth funds, law firms and public relations advisors.
