Barclays' pay round would have survived bonus cap

The UK bank says bonuses for its top 393 staff were on average 4.2 times salary in 2012 - against Brussels’ limit of two times. But Barclays could have raised salaries and paid stars the same quantum. It would only have cost them 1 pct of the investment bank’s overall expenses.
