Mercantilists can't expect altruism from the Fed
Listen to China or Brazil and the Fed s QE is an act of protectionism. As the beneficiary of reserve status, U.S. policy should in their view reflect global concerns. Yet the real complaint is that QE will make it harder for these nations to pursue their mercantilist policies.
