Contrary to a press report, chief executive Sir Fred Goodwin and chairman Sir Tom McKillop are not leaving Royal Bank of Scotland. But why not? They were responsible for the disastrous ABN Amro deal. For replacements, Stephen Hester and Philip Hampton are the obvious candidates.
