The Dutch haven’t given up hope of a deal with Capitalia despite the recent very public rebuff from Cesare Geronzi, the bank’s chairman. ABN may hope Geronzi isn’t an immovable obstacle. He’s still being investigated over financial scandals. If he went, a deal might be doable.
