Paying 2.8 bln pounds for the French insurer’s UK arm would inject muchneeded life into Clive Cowdery’s deal vehicle. At around 80 pct of embedded value, the deal does not look a huge bargain. That puts added pressure on Cowdery to mesh together complex ongoing life businesses.
