Older, slow growing, un-American

Cautious shoppers are blamed for the fall in German GDP in the second quarter. It s nothing new. A shrinking, ageing population, with low immigration, doesn t make for big spending. One implication: the demographically more dynamic US will tend to grow faster than old Europe.
