Journalists, exbankers and even officials like Hank Paulson are flooding the market with books on the meltdown. The info glut will make it hard for a new Barbarians to emerge not to mention for publishers to earn back their advances.

A number of books about various aspects of the credit crisis are due to be published in the next few months. At the end of September comes "The Murder of Lehman Brothers", written by a former Lehman Brothers banker Jospeh Tibman. New York Times reporter Andrew Ross Sorkin's "Too Big to Fail: The Inside Story of How Wall Street and Washington Fought to Save the Financial System and Themselves" appears on bookshelves in the US on October 20th. That is followed two weeks later by "The Sellout: How Three Decades of Wall Street Greed and Government Mismanagement Destroyed the Global Financial System", by CNBC's Charlie Gasparino.

Hank Paulson's own account of the crisis "On the Brink: Inside the Race to Stop the Collapse of the Global Financial System" is due out in early January next year, followed in February by Vanity Fair reporter Vicky Ward's "The Great Mistake: The Fall of Lehman and the Weekend that Changed the World." Michael Lewis's "The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine", debuts at the end of February.

These join a number of books already in print, including Wall Street Journal reporter Kate Kelly's "Streetfighters", which chronicles Bear Stearns' final 72 hours and "Fool's Gold" which charts the birth and growth of the credit derivatives market.
