Whose mark is it anyway?

Liquidity in assetbacked securities has evaporated. Until the market returns, anything with ABS exposure will remain in the firing line. The suspension of three BNP Paribas funds and the turmoil in the Commercial Paper market are both symptoms of the same problem.
