Standard & Poor’s stripped the world’s biggest private-sector oil producer of its gold-plated credit rating, leaving Microsoft and J&J as the last of a dying breed. It’s a blow to prestige, but markets already priced in a cut. Like the Energizer Bunny, Exxon has juice to spare.
