CEO Stuart Gulliver’s revamp is short on radical changes, though the tighter focus on costs and balancesheet discipline is welcome. Shrinking or selling underperforming assets may be a shortterm drag. But if HSBC can hit the upper end of its targets, the stock looks attractive.
