Credibility deficit

To cut the deficit to 3.5 pct of GDP in the next financial year, the government is relying on raising $23 bln from privatizations and selling airwaves. That is almost twice this year’s expected haul. India’s track record of under-delivering leaves plenty of room for doubt.
