Ferrous fueller’s way off

The steel ingredient’s sharp fall from $150 to $90 a tonne defies cold economic logic. But then again, a market that had been preternaturally hot wasn’t likely to behave rationally. For Australia’s Fortescue and other highly leveraged miners, the lesson is painful.
