Higher costs in the latest quarter spooked the firm’s shareholders. But other banks’ investors should worry more about its 30 pct drop in debt trading. The unit is small enough at Jefferies for robust advisory fees to pick up the slack. The bulge bracket doesn’t have that luxury.
