GLG bites Man

The UK hedge fund’s $1.6 bln cashandshares purchase of its rival will add longshort equity exposure, helping to reduce Man’s dependence on its flagship AHL fund. The deal isn’t cheap, but at least GLG’s main executives are taking stock at a lower price than other shareholders.
