New SEC rules kick in on Friday forcing some U.S. money-market funds to quote a net asset value, not just say they’re worth $1 a share. In anticipation, a third of the $3 trln market has moved into exempt government-debt funds. Fixed NAVs will outlast a weak effort to kill them.
