Two of the euro zone’s three biggest economies contracted in the fourth quarter. Gallic activity was hurt by strikes over President Emmanuel Macron’s pension reforms and inventory changes. Their impact will fade. The weakness of Italy’s domestic demand is a longer-term problem.
