Neither the LSE nor Maple has made a compelling pitch for the Canadian bourse. Maple’s C$3.7 bln bid is higher, but complex. LSE’s deal is pegged in part on the takeover premium in its own stock. And their strategies look underwhelming. Choosing between these duds won’t be easy.
