Mixed signals peppered the U.S. bank’s Q2 results. Investment banking revenue grew, but so did firmwide costs. Overseas banking improved, but $2 bln of released credit reserves flattered the bottom line. Dwindling losses in Citi’s unwanted assets might favorably tip the balance.
